where do I start?… ever since I was little I always looked up to my aunt. She was always trustworthy, loving, caring, and many more… she was such a happy person… I may not remember some memories with her but I remember, when I always saw her she would always put a smile on my face…my parents and I always talk about when I was little she would always take me too see the horses across the road… and I remember when I was little and we went to the race track and she went into the race car with my cousin… and when we lived in Illinois I remember when she came to the house and I was so happy to see her… Here’s a poem I found that reminds me of her…

    Life is too short,
    It’s not enough,
    but we must understand,
That if we live it in love and faith,
    a road will be made,
For the day we pass away,
    We can take it,
    and wait at the end,
for those who once and always loved me,
    I will meet.

    Your beautiful eyes,
    so big and round,
    showed love,
    showed laughter,
    showed happiness,
    showed sadness,
but we will remember you as the happy beautiful,
    women you were,
    The one who once laughed,
I love you my dear aunt,
    we miss u,
    but please wait,
    we will once meet again,
    in the kingdom of heaven,
where no pain we will feel…

aunt Michelle … I love you so much and I hope you are flying high up their 🙂 I love and miss u.

Loving, Determined, Passionate. These are but a few words that come to mind when I think of the Michelle I know and love. I was immediately welcomed to the Ouimet/Bowman family from the moment I was first introduced. Michelle and I have together enjoyed the births of our children, baptisms, graduations, anniverarsaries, weddings, family illnesses and everything that life brought our way. Always gracious, always generous, always loving was Michelle. The Michelle I knew loved being an aunt to her six nephews and one niece. Mostly what I remember is what a remarkable mother Michelle was to her three boys. The love she carried in her heart for Jason, Jarred, and Jordan “Bubba” was immeasurable. Loving them, guiding them, enjoying them is how I will always remember her. Despite knowing that Michelle is with God and always in our hearts, I would be remise if I didn’t say our family will never be the same. I miss my friend, my sister, my mentor, more and more with each passing day. I find some comfort from a poem by Henry Van Dyke called Gone From My Sight…

I am standing upon the seashore. A ship, at my side,
spreads her white sails to the moving breeze and starts
for the blue ocean. She is an object of beauty and strength.
I stand and watch her until, at length, she hangs like a speck
of white cloud just where the sea and sky come to mingle with each other.

Then, someone at my side says, “There, she is gone”

    Gone where?

Gone from my sight. That is all. She is just as large in mast,
hull and spar as she was when she left my side.
And, she is just as able to bear her load of living freight to her destined port.

Her diminished size is in me — not in her.
And, just at the moment when someone says, “There, she is gone,”
there are other eyes watching her coming, and other voices
ready to take up the glad shout, “Here she comes!”

Michelle…I am a better person for having known you! I love you and I miss you.

Love Always, Laura Ouimet (sister by marriage, friend by choice)

I first met Mrs. Bowman the weekend of Kev and Erin’s wedding in Cincinnati. I was a little nervous walking in to the Bowman house to meet the fam for the first time but she was the first one I saw when I came in through the kitchen. I remember making eye contact with her and she smiled and hugged me right away. I’ll never forget that. She opened her arms for a hug as soon as she started walking towards me. She had the sweetest, most gentle voice and I remember thinking how beautiful she was. She loved to chat, which I loved, and she whipped up such a delicious meal for us to eat before heading into the city. I remember she cut an ice cream sandwich in half for J and me to split after lunch. I just remember being so drawn to her… I wanted to be talking to her the whole time I was there and I felt at home with her. I remember Meesh being so funny talking about how there was this bird that always flew into the window that she was sitting in front of and then would fly away and do it again ten minutes later. She asked me what I was wearing to the wedding and we talked about ideas b/c she had a few options in mind and so did I. I remember feeling like I could talk to her all day. I didn’t get to spend a lot of time with Meesh but I feel like I know her really well through Jason. I can see a lot of her in Jason, J-rod and Bubs and I know she’s always here, watching over her sweet boys.
