MMBF is proud to announce our sponsorship of Girls on the Run! Girls on the Run inspires girls to recognize their inner strength and celebrate what makes them one of a kind. Trained coaches lead small teams of girls in 3rd-8th grade, developing essential skills to help them navigate their worlds and establish a lifetime appreciation for health and fitness. The program culminates with girls positively impacting their communities through a service project and being physically and emotionally prepared to complete a celebratory 5K event at Paul Brown Stadium on May 13, 2017. We would like to thank everyone for their generous support! We continue to strive to fulfill our mission statement and know it wouldn’t be possible without all of you!  We’d also like to thank all of you who took the time to record a memory of Michelle in our memory booth.  We will cherish them and are so thankful for your story.

We had a great event and were able to provide a $5,000 grant to Head Start (http://hcesc.org/head-start), which is an early childhood program designed to provide comprehensive services to young children and emphasizes parent engagement. The program serves children and families who are most at risk in the community and partners with local school districts to serve their low income children.

We had another successful year at MMBF and want to thank everyone for your generosity! We continue to live up to our mission and have provided a grant to GLAD House in Cincinnati, OH. Since 1998, GLAD House has been empowering children and strengthening families to break the cycle of addiction through counseling, alcohol and drug prevention education, recreational activities and academic support. Are you doing no shave November? Why not grow a Mustache for Meesh! Our friends at TEKsystems (Cincinnati) are having a 4 week fundraiser which is $20/week for the men to go without shaving and $5/week for jeans on Friday. We’re back at it! Running for Meesh is just around the corner! The Susan G. Komen Mother’s Day Race for the Cure in Chicago will be held on Sunday, May 11th. We hope you can join us for the race and/or support us through our fundraising efforts for the Michelle M. Bowman Foundation. Thank you to EVERYONE who ran with us and/or donated to the foundation last year. Team Meesh was able to raise $3,500 for the foundation because of your amazing generosity and support. You all are truly remarkable friends and family to the Bowman’s.

You can register to walk or run a 5K or 10K here: Susan G. Komen Chicagoland. Select “Join an existing Team” — and type in “Team Meesh“.  We will pick up registration packets the day before the race and have a pasta dinner the night before where you can pick up your packet, your Team Meesh t-shirt and eat yummy carbs 🙂

Thank you!  We knew how many people Michelle touched and had impacted, but the outpouring of love and support has been truly incredible.  We are blessed with wonderful family & friends!

The result of all your generous donations last year allowed us to provide the first grant from the foundation in support of our mission.  The grant was provided to Boys Hope Girls Hope, which is an organization that was brought to our attention through several of Michelle’s good friends. Boys Hope Girls Hope provides support for children to realize the potential that is within them and the structure needed for these children to reach their goals. After speaking to members of Boys Hope Girls Hope and learning more about what they do, we are excited to help. Find out more information @ http://www.boyshopegirlshope.org/
